Impact of science day on BASF
Participating in Science day (Dag van de Wetenschap) has significantly helped BASF reach a broader audience and raise awareness about the company. As a large corporation that produces a wide range of materials used in everyday products—from diapers to cleaning supplies, many people may not be aware of BASF’s contributions to their daily lives. This event provided a unique opportunity for parents and children to learn about our presence in the market and the innovative solutions we offer.
By engaging directly with the community, we were able to showcase the importance of science in our products and demonstrate how BASF plays a vital role in enhancing quality of life. Overall, this event not only fostered curiosity about science but also strengthened BASF’s connection with the community, helping to ensure that our company remains visible and relevant in the eyes of the public.
Conclusion
Looking back on my internship at BASF Antwerp, I can honestly say it has been an incredible journey that has exceeded my expectations. Working on various projects, especially during Science day, gave me the chance to apply what I’ve learned and develop my skills in internal communications, event planning, and social media management. The experience of collaborating with such dedicated professionals has deepened my understanding of the corporate world and fueled my passion for initiatives that promote inclusivity and community engagement.
I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks to those who supported me along the way. A special shoutout to my mentor, Julie Lowey-Ball, for your invaluable insights and encouragement throughout this experience; to Suzanne Duff, my internship supervisor, for guiding me with such care; and to Steven Meel, our coordinator, for making everything run smoothly. I’m also incredibly grateful to the entire BASF and Thomas More teams for their support and collaboration. This internship has not only given me practical skills but has also reinforced my commitment to using my voice in meaningful ways. I’m excited to carry these experiences forward as I continue my journey in this field.
