Preparation journey
Getting ready for the science day was quite the adventure! Our team put in a lot of effort to make sure everything was perfect for the kids. From sending out invitations to preparing fun goodies for the little ones, we worked together to cover all the details. Below, you can see some snapshots of our preparations—these moments capture the hard work and excitement that went into creating a memorable day for everyone involved!

Certificates and fun gadgets for the kids were prepared to enhance their experience

Materials were sourced, along with last-minute grocery shopping for the experiments
Retro Planning
Retro planning was a key part of our prep for Dag van de Wetenschap. We started by looking at the event date and worked backward to identify all the steps we needed to take beforehand. This approach helped us break down tasks into manageable pieces, making it easier to stay organized and on schedule.
By setting up a timeline with important milestones, like finalizing activities and gathering materials, we ensured that every detail was accounted for. It also encouraged teamwork, as everyone could see how their efforts contributed to the bigger picture. Overall, retro planning made our journey smoother and helped us pull off a successful event!

Acknowledging Support
I am incredibly grateful for the guidance and support I received throughout my internship, particularly from my mentor, Julie Lowey-Ball. From the very beginning, Julie provided me with all the necessary information and resources, ensuring I had a solid foundation to build upon. Our weekly meetings were invaluable; she offered insights and advice that helped me navigate the complexities of organizing the event from start to finish.
I would also like to acknowledge Els Renders, our event coordinator, who played a crucial role in our preparations. Els was always available to assist us, providing essential information and being there whenever we needed help. Her expertise and support ensured that we didn’t overlook any details, making the entire planning process much smoother.
Additionally, I want to express my appreciation for the volunteers who dedicated their time and effort to help us succeed. Jessy Kerstens provided fun gadgets for the kids, which added an exciting element to the event. The post office department was instrumental in preparing the certificates, while the lab provided the missing materials we needed to ensure everything was ready. Lastly, the participation and enthusiasm of the audience made a significant impact, contributing to the overall success of Science Day. Together, this support made a meaningful difference in creating an engaging experience for everyone involved.
