My internship has been centred around getting to know the company better for the first two weeks. Since BASF is such a big company with numerous installations, I\u2019ve had the chance to visit several sites and get to know coworkers from different departments. It\u2019s been a great way to build relationships as well as understand the scope of this company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Whenever possible, my mentor has included me in her assignments, which has been a great learning opportunity. In addition to that, I\u2019ve been attending a few online classes, where I gather key information and share insights during our group meetings. In terms of event planning and coordination, I recently had the opportunity to help our department manager with the planning of an event for the official opening of a new installation. I\u2019ve also taken on the responsibility of preparing some parts of the Instagram posts for the company. Although my mentor reviews and uploads them, I handle the content creation and ensure everything is ready to go. In addition to these assignments, I was given my first major assignment, which is an article that I am currently writing. It\u2019s an exciting challenge, and I\u2019m looking forward to completing it. I have not yet had a chance to meet the complete team because some are on vacation and others are unwell. But I can\u2019t wait to collaborate with everyone in October and discover more about their work. My mentor has informed me that I would have the chance to work with each of them on various projects. One day a week, I\u2019m also permitted to work from home, which has been a fantastic opportunity and the ideal balance. I\u2019ve learned that communication involves much more than just talking during my internship. Working with a group of seven individuals, each responsible for different tasks, has made me realize how crucial good communication is. I didn\u2019t realize how important this would be for my role at first.
